Space age technology that works brilliantly on earth

Quick and easy to fit, it’s a brilliantly simple system. High quality solar panels are fitted – usually on the roof. They are made from special photosensitive materials that react to daylight and create an electrical charge. The discovery was made way back in the 19th century, but more recently it was developed for use in space technology in the 60’s.

Electricity is distributed throughout your home

Electricity in the form of Direct Current is fed down from the roof and into an inverter. This changes the electricity into Alternating Current, which is suitable for home use.

A meter is installed which records how much electricity you generate.

The current is then fed into the fusebox, where it’s distributed throughout your home - for lighting and for power. It’s available for the whole family to plug into, and enjoy, whenever they like.

Use electricity you generate, sell it too

You can also sell any unused electricity to the national grid. So when you aren’t at home, the electricity you continue to generate will be exportable, earning you an export tariff through the Government’s FITs initiative.

So as well as saving money on the energy you need, you’ll make money from the energy you don’t need.

A top up is always available from your existing supplier

As well as selling energy, you can still import it in the normal way from your supplier - but only when you need it. The amount of electricity you require to top up your PV Electricity system will depend on the amount you are consuming at any given time. For example on dark winter evening, there will be more demand on your PV Electricity system, so additional supply is likely to be required.
